Website Maintenance
Launch day is the beginning, not the end.
Websites need looking after. We keep yours updated, secure, backed up and fast, and we’re on hand when you need changes, so your site keeps working as hard as the day it launched.
Most website problems are preventable. Outdated plugins, expired certificates, a backup that was never set up. Our maintenance plans handle the unglamorous work so you never have to think about it, and so your site never becomes the thing that lets you down.
What is website maintenance?
Quiet work that keeps you online.
Website maintenance is the ongoing care a website needs after launch: software and plugin updates, security monitoring, backups, uptime and speed checks, and the small content and design changes that keep a site current.
For sites we build, maintenance is the easiest way to protect your investment. For sites we didn’t build, we start with a health check, fix what needs fixing and take it from there. If a site is beyond saving, we’ll tell you honestly and talk about a redesign.
Not sure whether to fix or replace? Our redesign vs patch guide walks through the signs.

Site Health Check
We start by auditing your site’s speed, security, plugins and backups, then fix anything urgent. Outdated plugins, missing backups and sluggish pages are common, and it’s better to know where things stand before planning ongoing website maintenance.
You get an honest picture of your site’s health, and anything pressing is dealt with right away. The audit also tells us how much care your site really needs, which makes the next step, choosing a plan, much easier.

02Plan
Choose Your Plan
We recommend a care plan based on your site and how often you need changes. A simple brochure site with the odd update needs something different from a busy online store that changes every week.
There’s no point paying for hours you won’t use, or scrambling when you need more. We’ll talk it through and suggest the website care plan that fits, and once you’ve chosen, we set up the schedule for ongoing maintenance.

Ongoing Maintenance
Updates, backups and monitoring run on schedule, every month. Core software, themes and plugins are kept current, backups are taken and stored safely, and we keep watch for downtime and security issues.
Most of this happens quietly in the background, which is rather the point. You get a website that stays fast, secure and working without taking up space in your head. When something does need attention, we handle it and let you know what we did.

04Report
Regular Check-ins
We share what we’ve done and flag anything worth improving. No black boxes: you’ll know what was updated, what was fixed and how your site is holding up.
Check-ins are also where the good ideas surface, like a page that could load faster, content that’s gone stale or a feature that would make life easier. Maintenance keeps your website healthy; these conversations keep it getting better, one sensible improvement at a time.

Why clients keep us on call.
We built most of the sites we maintain, and we treat every one like it’s ours. Updates, backups and security checks happen on a schedule, small changes are done by people who know your site, and you always have someone to call when something needs attention.
We know your site
The team that built it is the team that looks after it. No time is lost getting a stranger up to speed, and every fix respects how your site was originally built.
Proactive, not reactive
Updates, backups and security monitoring happen before something breaks. Most problems are caught quietly in the background, so you hear about them in a report rather than from a customer.
Fast turnaround
Small changes are handled quickly by people who care. New team bios, updated hours, a fresh banner or an extra page go live without a long queue or a formal project.
Honest advice
We’ll tell you when it’s time for something bigger. If patching an older site costs more than it’s worth, we’ll say so and help you plan the next step, rather than keep billing for workarounds.
We’ve earned some good company. Recognize anyone?
Beyond their technical expertise, what truly stood out was how personally invested the team was in our success. They took the time to understand our business priorities and consistently aligned their work to meet those objectives.

We had an incredibly short and aggressive timeline that Envy Design Co. met, delivering an incredible website. After the websites were launched, leads continued to come in.

Their communication, attention to detail, and commitment to measurable outcomes made them feel like genuine partners rather than just a vendor. They are terrific.

Frequently asked questions.
Can you maintain a website you didn’t build?
Yes. We start with a health check to understand how the site was built and what it needs, then recommend a plan.
Taking over website maintenance for a site we didn't build is common. The health check looks at your platform, hosting, WordPress version, plugins, theme, security, backups and performance. Sometimes everything is in decent shape and simply needs regular care. Other times we find outdated or abandoned plugins, missing backups or security gaps that should be fixed first. We'll explain what we found in plain language and recommend the right next step, whether that's a maintenance plan, a few repairs or, if the site is beyond saving, a conversation about rebuilding.
What’s included in a maintenance plan?
Plans include software and plugin updates, security monitoring, backups, uptime and speed checks, and a set amount of time for content or design changes.
In practice, that means we keep your website software current, watch for security issues, back up your site regularly and keep an eye on uptime and loading speed. If something breaks after an update, we fix it. The included time for changes is handy for everyday tasks like adding a page, updating staff bios, swapping images or tweaking a form. Website maintenance plans are tailored to the size of your site and how often it changes, so you're not paying for more than you need.
What happens if my site goes down?
We monitor uptime and respond when there's an issue. With regular backups in place, we can restore your site quickly.
Websites can go down for many reasons: a hosting outage, a failed update, a plugin conflict or a security problem. Uptime monitoring means we're alerted when your site stops responding, often before you or your customers notice. We investigate the cause, fix it and let you know what happened. If a site needs restoring, recent backups make that much faster and less stressful. It's one of the most valuable parts of website maintenance, because downtime costs leads, sales and credibility.
Do I need maintenance if my site is on WordPress?
Yes. WordPress, themes and plugins release updates regularly, often for security. Keeping them current is the best way to keep your site safe.
Outdated WordPress websites are one of the most common targets for hackers, simply because known weaknesses are easy to find. Updates fix those weaknesses, but they occasionally cause conflicts, which is why it helps to have someone test and manage them properly. WordPress maintenance also includes backups, security monitoring and performance checks so small problems don't turn into big ones. If you have an in-house team comfortable doing this, great. If not, a maintenance plan takes it off your plate.
How much does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the size of your site and how many changes you need each month. Get in touch and we'll recommend the right plan.
A smaller brochure-style website needs less ongoing work than a large WordPress site with many plugins, integrations or an e-commerce store. The amount of included time for content updates and design changes also affects cost. When you contact us, we'll ask about your website, what it runs on and how often you update it. If we didn't build it, we'll start with a health check. Then we'll recommend a website maintenance plan that fits, with no long list of extras you don't need.
