Our process

Great work starts with a great process.

Branding, websites or both — every Envy project follows a clear path from first conversation to launch and beyond.

Branding + Web: one cohesive process.

From brand discovery to website launch, here’s how a full project comes together.

  1. 01
    Discover

    Brand Questionnaire & Discovery

First, we get to know your business inside out: the story behind it, where you want to take it, who you serve and what makes you genuinely different. It’s the foundation for everything that follows, whether it ends up in a logo, a headline or a homepage.

Because branding and web design share one process, this discovery work feeds both. What we learn here shapes your identity and later your website, so you never have to explain your business twice. Next, we look outward.

    Discover

    Competitive & Industry Research

Next, we turn to your industry and competitors. How do they present themselves, where are they strong, and where are they leaving gaps? Those gaps are often where the opportunity lives.

The goal isn’t to shout over the competition. It’s to find the territory your brand can own by being more distinctly and authentically you. That research guides your brand and website alike, from the visual direction to how your site’s messaging stands apart.

    Define

    Audience Personas

Then we get specific about the people you want to reach. What drives them, what do they expect, and why do they pick one brand over another? We capture the answers in audience personas the whole project can lean on.

Those personas shape more than your branding. They inform which pages your website needs, which questions it should answer and which calls to action will land. Knowing your audience this well makes the next step, positioning, much sharper.

    Define

    Positioning & Messaging

Here we pin down your positioning: what you stand for, what sets you apart and how to put it into words people remember. We also define your brand voice and tone, so you sound like yourself everywhere.

This messaging does double duty. It guides the look of your identity and becomes the backbone of your website copy, from homepage headlines to service pages. With the strategy agreed, we’re ready to turn words into visuals.

    Create

    Two Concept Directions

With strategy in hand, we create two genuinely distinct creative directions, not one idea dressed two ways. Each comes with the strategic rationale for every decision, so you can see why it works and not just how it looks.

You choose the direction that feels most like you, and we develop it into your full identity. That look then carries straight into your website, so your brand and site are designed as one from the start rather than stitched together later.

    Plan

    Sitemap & Content Strategy

With the brand defined, we plan your website. We map every page and how visitors move between them, deciding what each page needs to say, who it’s for and what it should prompt them to do.

Content and SEO are planned side by side, so the structure serves people and search engines equally. The positioning and personas from earlier steps feed straight into this plan, which becomes the blueprint for designing every page.

  7. 07
    Design

    Full Design-Out

Next, every remaining template is designed in your new brand, built on a component system of shared buttons, cards and layouts. That keeps the whole site consistent and makes adding pages later refreshingly straightforward.

Because your identity was developed in the same process, nothing gets lost in translation between brand and website. You review and approve the designs, and once everything is signed off, it moves into development.

    Build

    Development

We turn the approved designs into clean, lightweight code on WordPress or custom PHP. Every site is built mobile-first, accessible and fast, without page builders or bloated plugins dragging it down.

Lean code means quicker load times, healthier search performance and fewer moving parts to break. You get a website that matches the designs and is easy for your team to manage, ready for a thorough round of testing.

  9. 09
    Test

    QA & Training

The site gets tested across browsers and devices, and we check its speed, accessibility and SEO fundamentals, catching the small issues that are easy to miss when you’ve been staring at something for weeks.

We also train your team to manage content with confidence, so editing a page or adding a news post is a quick job rather than a support ticket. With everything tested and your team ready, we can set the launch date.

    Launch

    Launch & Beyond

We take care of the launch, including redirects and search setup, so your new brand and website go live together and the rankings you already have are protected.

After launch, we stick around for care, improvements and whatever comes next. Your brand and website will keep evolving along with your business, and it helps to have a team that knows both inside out and is ready for the next chapter.

Ready when you are. Let’s talk.

A good process isn’t paperwork. It’s how we make sure every decision has a reason, every round of feedback moves things forward and launch day feels calm instead of chaotic.

Beyond their technical expertise, what truly stood out was how personally invested the team was in our success. They took the time to understand our business priorities and consistently aligned their work to meet those objectives.

What do you need help with?

Questions about how we work.

How long does a project take?

Most branding projects take 6–10 weeks and most websites 8–20 weeks, depending on scope and feedback rounds. Branding and web together run as one connected timeline. We map yours out before we begin.

Our process moves through clear phases: discovery, strategy, design, refinement and, for websites, development, testing and launch. Each phase has a review point, so you always know where things stand. When branding and web design are combined, the website can start taking shape while the brand is finalized, rather than waiting for one to finish completely. Your schedule shows key dates, what we'll need from you and when, so you can plan launches and internal approvals with confidence.

How involved will I need to be?

Most involved at the start, during discovery, and at each review point. In between, we do the heavy lifting and keep you updated.

Discovery is where your knowledge matters most. We'll ask about your business, customers, competitors, goals and what's not working today, and the answers shape every decision that follows. At review points, you'll see strategy, concepts, designs or builds and give feedback. Between those moments, we handle the work and send updates so you're never left wondering. It helps to agree early on who will give feedback and make final decisions, which keeps the process moving and avoids late surprises.

How many rounds of revisions are included?

Every phase includes feedback and refinement. Your proposal spells out exactly what is included, so there are no surprises.

We build revisions into our process because good design improves with honest feedback. At each review point, you'll share your thoughts, we'll refine the work and we'll check in again before moving on. Clear, consolidated feedback from the right decision-makers makes each round more productive. Because the proposal is specific about what's included, you'll know where you stand if you want to explore something new partway through. If additional changes come up, we'll talk about them openly before any extra work begins.

Who will I be working with?

Our senior designers and developers, with our founders overseeing every project. You will always know who is working on your project.

As a founder-led agency, we keep teams small and experienced, so the people you meet early on are the people doing the work. You won't be handed off to someone you've never heard of after the proposal is signed. Having designers and developers on the same team also means fewer gaps between what's designed and what's built. You'll have direct communication with the team, clear points of contact and regular updates throughout, which makes the whole process easier and more personal.

What happens after launch?

We train your team, monitor the site after launch and offer website maintenance plans for updates, security and ongoing improvements.

Training means your team knows how to update content, add pages or posts and use the features built for your site. After launch we keep an eye on things, checking for errors, broken links and anything that needs adjusting once real visitors arrive. Website maintenance plans keep software updated, back up your site and monitor security, with time for small changes. Many clients also keep working with us on campaigns, new pages and marketing materials, so the brand and website keep improving over time.
