01 — Context

Corporate pitch deck design for local produce at scale

BrightFarms is a greenhouse grower of leafy greens, supplying local produce to retailers nationwide, 365 days a year. Its tagline says it plainly: Grown for Locals!

The team needed a corporate pitch deck that would put those bright, beautiful products in front of national retail buyers and make the business case for local, greenhouse-grown greens. Their brand was already well established, so our job wasn't to reinvent it. It was to build a presentation design that used the BrightFarms logo, greens and type with discipline, and told a clear commercial story slide by slide.

The audience mattered. Grocery buyers see dozens of supplier decks. We wanted this one to feel as fresh as the product — light, leafy and confident — while staying easy to follow in a busy meeting room. That meant one message per slide, large type that reads from the back of the room, and imagery that shows the product rather than generic farm stock.

Supplier decks also tend to get forwarded after the meeting, so we kept headlines short and self-explanatory. The argument still holds when nobody is there to narrate it, whether it lands with a category manager or a regional buyer.

02 — The story

Where they grow, who they sell to, and why it matters

We structured the deck around the questions a buyer brings to the table. First: where are you? A lime green map of the eastern United States marks BrightFarms' current greenhouse locations with small leaf icons, next to a short, bold statement — "Local produce, nationwide. 365 days a year." — and the product certifications in a neat row underneath.

Second: who already trusts you? The Retail Partners slide sets white logos over a farm photo washed in BrightFarms green, so the partner marks read cleanly as one confident line instead of a jumble of brand colours.

Third: why change? "The salad industry is not structurally safe" uses three circular photos — open fields, centralized processing, long-haul trucks — to explain the risks of the conventional supply chain in a few words each. The italic, lime-coloured accent on "is not" became a repeated device across the deck, giving key phrases a handwritten emphasis that suits the brand's friendly voice.

Ordering the deck this way — presence, partners, problem, then proof — lets the buyer agree with each step before the next one arrives. By the time the market data appears, the audience already understands why a local, greenhouse-grown supply matters to them.

03 — Craft

Data slides that stay on brand

Pitch decks for food companies often split into two styles: pretty photo slides and dull spreadsheet slides. We kept them in one visual family. Market data appears as clean infographic bar charts — mint for historic years, BrightFarms lime for estimates — layered over a green-tinted photo of a grower in the greenhouse. Callout tags highlight the headline figure, and sources sit in small type at the foot of the slide where a diligent buyer will look for them.

The palette stays tight throughout: deep forest green, lime and white, with fresh salad leaves bookending the deck on the title and closing slides. Leaf-shaped page numbers carry the theme into the smallest detail, and the logo sits in the same top-centre position on every content slide so the brand is always present without competing for attention.

Because the deck was built in PowerPoint, the BrightFarms team can update figures, swap partner logos or add new locations as the business grows, without a designer redrawing each slide.

The result is a deck the BrightFarms team can stand behind in any food and beverage sales meeting. For another agriculture story, see our AgFuse pitch deck, or our loyalty program deck for Si Media.
