01 — Context

A small brand for a handmade product

Le Petit Bowtique is a crafting business in Inola, Oklahoma, that makes custom ribbon hair bows and sells them through Facebook. The owner needed a simple logo that would make the product obvious at a glance, plus business cards and social images to match.

For a maker selling mostly online, every image has to work hard. The Le Petit Bowtique logo design needed to look at home on a Facebook profile, on a printed card tucked into an order, and alongside photos of the bows themselves.

02 — The identity

Ribbon, florals and a single bow

Our branding and identity design kept things light and feminine. BOWTIQUE is set in clean geometric capitals inside a thin rectangular frame, with LE PETIT in small spaced letters on top and a hand-drawn bow tucked underneath. The bow on its own became the profile image on a blush pink background.

We styled the brand around a soft flat-lay of white daisies, lilac blossoms, green leaves and spools of pink and pale blue ribbon. For print, that photo fills the front of the business card, while the back stays white and simple with the bow, the owner's details and her location. The same imagery runs across the Facebook cover, part of the social media design, so the page and the card feel like one shop.

Small brands benefit from this kind of consistency as much as big ones, something we see across our work with emerging brands. For other small-maker projects, see the business cards for leather crafters Awl & Needle, or the floral wedding suite for Leslie & Ryan.
